Jenaleigh Griffin
Jenaleigh Griffin, a 2021 and 2023Vision Fellow, graduated from MVRHS in June 2020. During her Fellowship, she earned her BS in psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and also studied at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Jenaleigh’s long-term career goal is to become a Registered Nurse. Throughout her Fellowship, she gained valuable hands-on experience through internships at Island Health Care, an organization dedicated to ensuring all island residents have access to high-quality healthcare regardless of income or insurance status, and Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. She also worked under Dr. Terry Kriedman, an obstetrician-gynecologist in private practice. Jenaleigh moved to Martha’s Vineyard from South Africa as a young teenager. While the transition was challenging, she approached it with resilience and determination, becoming the first in her immediate family to earn both a high school diploma and a college degree. Jenaleigh currently lives in Hawaiʻi, where she earned her certified nursing assistant certification and now works full-time as a medical assistant at a primary care clinic focused on providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality medical and social services for all.
